Release notes for version 2020.3.6.0.

Important

All tools have been updated to use .NET 4.7.2 and it is now the minimum framework version required. Due to the updated framework version, support for Visual Studio 2015 has been dropped from the Visual Studio package. Only Visual Studio 2017 and later will be supported going forward. The standalone GUI can be used if needed.

Sandcastle Tools

  • Fixed MRefBuilder so that it correctly handles missing security attribute types when loading security attribute information.

  • Added an option to ignore netstandard.dll in the list of references if not using the cross-platform reflection data set.

Sandcastle Help File Builder

  • When setting the configuration and platform, Platform is also set along with PlatformName even if Platform is not seen.

  • Fixed the build engine so that it reports the correct error number rather than the general BE0065 error when a more specific one is supplied.

  • Fixed handling of XML comments files so that it can find them in projects that use multi-targeting with unresolved property values in the comments filename property.

  • Removed the Local File System website viewing option. It caused too much confusion due to blocked scripts. Use the View Website (Local Web Dev Server) option instead.
